Rubio Monocoat was established in 1964 as a wood finish and coatings company. In 2005 Rubio Monocoat released Oil Plus 2C; the hardwax oil that revolutionized the wood finish industry! It was the first, and still is, the only finish to offer molecular bonding technology, one coat color and protection, while still being 0% VOC. In fact, Rubio Monocoat made the commitment to achieve 0% VOC in their finishes before legislation was ever passed regulating VOCs. Brought to the United States in 2008 and now located in Austin, TX, Rubio Monocoat USA continues to lead the industry in innovative, safe, and plant-based wood protection.
